Safeguarding

Ensuring that all our children are safe and well is something that we take very seriously.

It is a key part of our vision and values for our school. We are “a community where everyone belongs, where our children feel safe to be confident and ambitious, and where we work together with kindness and respect.”

In addition, we fully recognise our legal duty under section 175/157 of the Education Act 2002 to work with other agencies to ensure that children are protected from harm and to promote their welfare. We regularly work with CAMHS, social services, Young Carers, counsellors, the NHS, local schools and the police to ensure our children’s safety and wellbeing.

All staff at Noremarsh Junior School, including temporary staff and volunteers, have been DBS checked, as have regular professional visitors to the school.

As part of our responsibility to keep children safe, staff are regularly trained in safeguarding. We know how to recognise the signs of children who need further attention, so that they are kept from harm. We have a very clear set of protocols that are followed to ensure concerns are followed up correctly, involving Social Services, or other agencies, where necessary.
